Sr. Java Engineer

We are looking for a Java (Data Extraction) Engineer to strength our Data team locally in San Mateo.

The perfect candidate would be a strong technical individual with the drive to learn new technologies and to be part of an aggressive team that will reshape Fanhattans integration with 3rd party content providers.

We are looking for someone that can read the web very well. Your experience writing it, whether it's responding to HTTP request or writing HTML will be well appreciated, but your role would be to concentrate on extracting and matching large volumes of data.

Requirements:

• Strong server-side Java skills & nice to have some Ruby exp.
• Experience with HTML scraping (parsing and DOM manipulation)
• Experience of interacting with REST APIs (including OAuth authorization controls)
• XML/JSON

Nice to haves:

• BS or CS in computer science or equivalent (or substantial experience)
• Willingness to work in an environment where agile is the key word.
• Attitude of getting it done and change process if process is wrong
• Aggressive and direct in communication
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, XP methodology
• Start-up mentality
